September Impact Report

September was a great month for Slow & Steady Thrift’s community impact!

Our owner was out of town for 10 days, but even still, approximately 3,000 items* were donated to our local homeless shelter partners! This included lots of items to help prepare the shelters as cold weather approaches. We are so grateful for everyone in the community who has donated their clothing and accessories so we could make sure they get to where they are really needed!

At the end of September, we were welcomed as a vendor at Boulderfest Dallas! Going into the event, we knew we wanted to commit 50% of sales to donate to Safe Families for Children - DFW. For this pop-up we let all of our shoppers know our cause, and operated as pay-by-donation. Though it was a slow event, we had lost of fun being a vendor there! As always, our shoppers surprised us with their generosity <3 with only 2 sales, we were able to donate $35 to SFFC!

Stay tuned as we continue striving to help DFW lower their environmental impact while helping those who need it the most.

If you would like to make a clothing donation to Slow & Steady Thrift, please text, email, or reach out on social media!

  • *because of the large amount of items we receive and sort through, we are unable to count exactly how many items. However, it was determined that an industrial sized bag can hold approximately 100 items of clothing. We adjust our estimations when the bags contain bulky items such as winter coats and boots. The Septmeber donations were all split between Our Calling and The Bridge. We hope to engage more with out community partners in the coming months!
